Inspired by the tactile methods of navigating through the stars, S.T. A. R. R. is a portable mat that allows users to track and reflect the angles of their body movements. The rug is an octagon - based on the unit circle, users use each "point" of the shape as a way to track the degrees of the angle they are making with their body. S.T.A.R.R.'s textile uses conductive thread, which works as a circuit that turns applied pressure into an electrical signal that triggers an LED light to act as a metaphoric "star". This "star" indicates to users the metaphorical constellation that is connected to the user created angle.
